This really would be a basic task of getting any job but hey i have made mistakes already and i am bound to make more (so make sure you press F7 before you send anything or even read the text out loud that you are writing). This might be the most boring blog you have ever read but hey some of this story needs to be said and some of it will be me venting about how being stuck in a house with no job feels like being locked in a box with no exit. I have been looking for work for four months now and really dont seem to be getting anywhere. Writing a blog about it may not help for my future job prospects but it may help one of you who do read this to realise that life isnt always a box of roses. I plan on daily telling you some of the reasponses you get from companies and what thye really mean. How not to come across on a phone interview and how not to come across at a face to face interview. How WINZ is a absolute joke and what they said to me. Also how to deal with people out there in Wellington or even the rest of New Zealand (or possibly the world) who have nothing better to do than talk crap about you and live there life through your misery and a whole lot more.
So check on in take a load of and listen to what it can be like for you out there.
Dave
Yep, been there done that, know what you mean about unemployment. But I think if you play your cards right, the blog could help the situation- it’s certainly happened before.
And WINZ, don’t get me started…. You’re better off going to the Salvation Army, because they’ll tell you what benefits you’re entitled to and what WINZ should be doing for you (trust me on that one, my parents are Sallie officers and much better sources for that kind of information than any WINZ case officer I ever met).
Good luck with the job hunt, and I’m looking forward to more on this blog.
